Sarasota Tapestry

This tapestry was commissioned for a luxury beachside residence in Sarasota, Florida. The challenge was to use familiar marine and nautical motifs in a unique and sophisticated way. The mandate required that the tapestry be beautiful and compelling, and yet still evoke a serene, peaceful feeling. 

LT Design created a tapestry that is rich and textured, weaving sea-related motifs from many cultures and traditions into a cohesive illustration. The design is rich with details, but uses a light and beachy color palette. The imagery incorporates sea shells, ocean waves, a ship cabin window, and abstract circles to evoke the feeling of the ocean. The colors blue and tan reference the ocean, sky, and sand. The balance and symmetry of the illustration creates a peaceful feeling.
